Intermediate/Sr 3D Generalist

Successful candidates display high proficiency in a wide range of art-related work ranging from the creative to the technical. The 3D generalist should be able to composite all art assets in Unity.
Responsibilities:
Contribute original ideas on all aspects of VR game production & development
Responsible for 3D environments, objects & vehicles for VR game production
Able to create 3D models, textures, UV mapping, lighting, basic hard surface animations, basic shaders
Making sure 3D assets are implemented at a high quality in Unity
Adhere to and improve game production pipeline
May supervise the work of entry, mid and mid-high level generalist artists
Participate in daily scrum meetings (online) and weekly sprint meetings (online)
Requirements:
Experience leading creation of outstanding artwork using Unity
3+ years of experience in 3D modeling for use in Unity-based games (3DS Max, Maya or Blender), preferred to have shipped one title
Strong experience in modelling, PBR texturing, UV mapping, lighting, and environment design
Excellent communication skills for conveying ideas verbally, over text, and through sketches
Dedicated to creating high quality work and working in an artistic team environment
Disciplined without needing constant supervision in a home environment & punctual with deadlines
Strong skills in 3D software such as Maya/3DS Max/Blender, Substance Painter/Designer, zBrush, Unity, Unreal
Successful candidates may also have:
Past experience working remotely (freelancing counts!)
Worked on VR projects with knowledge of best practices for VR
Knowledge in optimization for games (LOD Creation, normal map baking, etc.)
Experience with Agile & Scrum workflow
Experience using Trello, JIRA, Hacknplan, Monday, Slack, Milanote, and related technologies
Bonus for experience with 3D modeling for hard surfaces, vehicles & props
Bonus for animation experience
A portfolio with work demonstrating skill and process
Location:
Office is located in Vancouver, B.C.
Hybrid work environment but must be living in BC as a citizen, PR or have a valid work permit (preference given to those living in Vancouver area).
Salary:
$60k-86k annually + benefits (and stock options)
Compensation commensurate with experience.
