3D Character Rigging Designer
Immersive Tech is growing fast and we’re looking for a skilled 3D Character Rigging Designer to join our team in Vancouver. This contract is specific to our current VR game and will be working with our internal art and programmer team. The ideal candidate feels comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possesses a proactive attitude. Responsibilities:
Articulating characters within environments, layouts and backgrounds
Creating joints and moving points to rotate and pivot
Designing, testing and maintaining humanoid rigs
Ensuring character movements are fluid, free of glitches and believable
Identifying issues and following through with inquiries
Testing rigs and ensuring they hold up in animation
Adjusting humanoid characters object hierarchy and naming to match naming conventions
Working with the engineer team to test and adjust the models accordingly
What you will bring:
Minimum 2-year 2D/3D art, design, or computer science degree, or equivalent experience with excellent critique and vocabulary skills (Bachelors a plus).
Skilled in 3D software (Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, Unity)
Working knowledge of Virtual Reality Rigging using Final IK/VRIK
Experience managing multiple GIT branches and merging assets between branches
Proven strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills
Ability to adapt to rapid development cycles and multitask in a cross-functional team
Track record of successfully working on teams sharing, helping, collaborating within a team to work together toward a common goal with a “we” mentality
Nice-to-have Skills:
Experience in animation
Experience with Virtual Reality games and applications

Salary:
Contract Based with possibility for Full-Time position.
